I fear I’ve now landed into that most useless place mentioned by Dr. Seuss in his wonderful book “Oh, the places you’ll go!”
… for people just waiting.
Waiting for a storm to go and a fine weather window,
Waiting for a fever to drop and a cough to go,
Waiting for a scar to heal and a scalp to feel,
Waiting for summer and its gleeful glow,
Waiting for a chance to shine in the next show,
Waiting for the phone to ring,
Waiting for my boat to keep dreaming,
And a little something to go to resume enjoying.
No doubt we’ll soon escape and be off to great places again, but for now, please don’t ask, we’re just waiting.
